It's more than a game.

Rugby and the name Karl Fix are synonymous in the Province of Saskatchewan. Karl Fix has been at the heart of

almost every program's beginning and success over the past 30-40 years. The meetings, planning, sponsors, recruiting, players, coaches, managers, caterers, and even mascots with fire coming out of their heads! The best thing about Karl is his ability to bring people together. For many years he has lead several tours across the world creating endless experiences for so many that are involved, and it is those experiences that have ultimately made us fall in love with this great game. As his beloved Dog River Howlers Rugby Club slogan goes "It's more than a game, it's a way of life!"

It's an honour for The University of Regina Rugby Program to name their Tournament Championship Men's 7's Trophy after this great man The "Karl Fix Cup," which will be awarded this weekend at their annual Cougar Rugby Tournament in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

"Thank you for the recognition, and it is without a question this tournament is a vital pathway for the development of young prairie rugby players no different than other sports that are already part of the various university sports competitions."
